93 Points

Monday, April 29, 2013 - Dark in color, and filled with jammy black and blue fruits, chocolate covered cherries and spice, the wine is big, deep and powerful. Think of biting into jammy berries dipped in chocolate. The wine is big, intense and packed with flavor. While this is clearly well made, which gets it the points, it lacked something special that made me want to keep drinking it.

4/29/2013 1:34:00 PM - Jeff - Does your last sentence mean that you did or didn't like the Materium? Does the absence make the heart grow fonder?

4/29/2013 4:36:00 PM - My last sentence means the wine is fine. There are no faults. It is well made. But after my initial pour, which was probably 2 ounces, I never wanted to back to the wine to keep tasting it. It lacked that extra special something that for me, compelled me to discover more about the wine. The 2010 Kapcsandy on the other hand served at the dinner was a wine I could not get enough of. I hope this helps...
