Sunday, March 22, 2015 - Maybach 2010 Materium sourced from 1000 feet above the Silverado Trail on the eastern hillside of Oakville. The vines struggle to grow among boulders and stones and in shallow soil, resulting in a deeply concentrated, elegantly textured Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. The 2010 Materium is deep purple all the way to the edge with a bountiful aroma. The mouth feel is velvety and balanced consistent with the Thomas Brown style. Flavors tend to raisin, prune with earth and medium toast wood. Even at its young age it is balanced from front to back. Good to drink now but better in 3 to 5 years.
