Saturday, September 3, 2016 - Decanted and enjoyed with thick cut, roasted pork chops smothered in sun dried tomatoes, garlic, onions, and antipasti served over tossed garlic pasta. Big, aromatic, impressive, focused, and rich. The "regular" bottling of the 2011 CdP was outstanding a few months ago, but this is more concentrated and massive, while displaying elegance and balance. Smokey dark berries, spicy cherries, juicy plum, black herbal tea, licorice and some dried Herbs de Provence. Plenty of stuffing to support many years of cellaring. Acidity, oak and fruit set up an extremely long, long finish. Great stuff!
