Monday, January 3, 2011 - Popped and poured (to accompany viewing of movie "Inception"). Darker ruby. Fulsome nose of black fruits, anise, violets, earth. Concentrated without excessive weight on the palate, with layers of black raspberry, holdiay spices, licorice, star anise, iodine, and leather. Nice balance between well-delineated fruit, moderate acidity, and still-structured tannins. Long, flavorful finish of dark fruits and earthy mineral notes. Alas, last bottle but excellent in every way.
