Friday, November 28, 2014 - Drank for Thanksgiving with goose, bread dumplings and savoy cabbage.
Wine stood up better to the course than the Cyril Henschke Cab/Merlot/CabFranc blend also drunk alongside although that one was the far more elegant wine..
Dark garnet color, bordering on "black".
Good cabernet nose, some graphite, cedar and pepper.
Quite dry on palate: Lots of tannin. finishes rather dry and austere.
For me the tannins were overly dominant and detracted from the overall attractiveness of the wine.
Will they ever fully integrate without drying out the fruit?
