Saturday, November 28, 2009 - Tasted blind, decanted prior to tasting. Clear, opaque ruby to a light ruby rim, with moderate intensity and appears more youthful than aged though rim variation is apparent. On the nose, wine shows beautiful amarena cherry, blackcurrant, clove, cocoa powder, cigar box, green sous bois, cedar and cigar box notes. Healthy, moderate + intensity and again appears more youthful than aged. On the palate, wine was moderate intensity with structured tannins, moderate- acids and low + alcohol. Black currant mingles with olive, green bell pepper, pencil shavings, gravel and light potpourri notes. Wonderful wine, well integrated still a bit sharp on the tannins but showing well now, will most definitely develop. Most of the group though this right bank Saint Emilion. 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc, $67 wholesale.
