Thursday, January 23, 2014 - Opened, decanted and followed over two hours. Served with food (fettucine in a marinara sauce, and shrimp and mushrooms over toast).
Dark color; nose of black cherries and some oak. Rich and full bodied, showing dried cherries, earth and a hint of vanilla. Shows depth of flavor with a fair base of acidity. Will likely improve with additional time in the cellar.
