Thursday, July 4, 2013 - Fruity and fresh. Nose of sweet strawberry, cherry and plum. Tastes like maraschino cherry, black cherry, plum, sage, nutmeg, chocolate and lots of smoke. I don't taste the oak that others mention. In fact, it reminded me of an unoaked grenache. It's very sweet, a touch too acidic and the alcohol taste is glaringly present, but chilling it brings it together nicely, gives it some balance and makes it rather refreshing. It's decent summer patio red, especially for the price.
