90 Points

Tuesday, February 12, 2013 - One of the more muscular and restrained Barbera that I've ever had, I was in the minority of people who liked the Scarrone (Alba) over this one. Slightly austere with a touch of tobacco, plum, rich earth, humus, forrest floor, moss and wet leaves. Don't get me wrong, it's very tasty and well made but I just thought this was too closed and dark for Barbera. Maybe it's me, but I prefer a juicier, fruitier style.
