Thursday, March 7, 2013 - Golden, slightly copper colored. Smells fresh and ripe, with honeydew, papaya and white flowers, just a hint of sea shell. The wine starts off tangy on the palate, with high acid, but the creamy body and rich fruit come through, although they never overtake the acid. Flavors of lemon peel, honeydew melon and white peach mix with sea shell and chalk notes. A fun, zesty chard, but not simple. It’s not often a basic Mâconnais wine shows this much verve and minerality.
