Tuesday, August 6, 2013 - 3 hours of slow-ox, and still not really awake even after that. In the glass, saturated reddish-purple, fading rapidly to black at the center. On the nose, a mix of raspberries, bramble, oak, and a tiny hint of rose. On the palate, the zinfandel is dominant, with secondary notes of funk and pepper. After a couple more hours, more fruit and some spice began to emerge. There is definitely more stuffing waiting to emerge; give it 3-5 years in the cellar and try again.
