Friday, March 3, 2006 - $59.99 retail. Like the Egly-Oriet BdN, this has just a twinge of pink / copper color. Youthful, fruit driven nose of red apple and faint toast. Again, much fruit on the palate - red apple and light cinnamon (apple sauce?). Relatively full bodied, and it comes across as rather soft and lush in the mouth. This is very nice, but I don't necessarily feel it's a step up from a number of other grower Champagnes I've had lately (see Champagne TNs) for as little as half the price of this wine. Therefore, though I like it, for me, this is not the greatest value in the current national Champagne market... Also, FWIW, I prefer the more racy, minerally, chiseled Egly-Oriet BdN V.V. for slightly more $ (see TNs).
