Friday, August 5, 2016 - Deep colour, violet-scented, spicy nose turning to blackberry as it softened in the glass. A trace of cinnamon on the nose? On the palate, some blackberry with a seductive range of dark berry fruits that are difficult to disentangle but any blackcurrant acidity has gone. Good balance. Soft and rich with black cherry fruit developing with time. On the end taste, some gentle powdery tannins with cherry stones.
Interesting development - over the last year, the damson/plum character seems to have evolved into blackberry/cherry.
Very attractive wine. Great now, but has future potential IMO.
