Tuesday, September 17, 2013 - Popped and poured. The wine is darkest garnet and inky purple. It has an aromatic nose of plum and vanilla. On the palate, it is fruit-forward and full-bodied with the same plum and vanilla as well as blackberry compote, black currants, white pepper and Christmas spices. It has medium - length finish and softer tannins. 2011 was an unusually cool vintage Down Under and this wine is nowhere near as good as the excellent 2009 or 2010 Boxer. That having been said, Mollydooker's 2011 Two Left Feet -- a deftly blended mix of Shiraz, Cabernet and Merlot -- really knocks it out of the park and has a great QPR to boot.
