Forward, but well put together and decidedly complex, this offers aromas of dense dried blackberries, dried black cherries, cassis, grilled mushrooms, topsoil, and a generous amount of toast and oak spice. Full bodied and decidedly rich on the palate with mouthcoating texture, still lively - though well integrated tannins - and sunny flavors of dried black fruit and oak. This is a powerhouse and at this age it out performs many wines from Napa Valley that cost triple what it does.
