Medium purple/garnet color. Nose of black currants, cherries and some spices. On the palate there are again mainly black fruits , some spices, licoricze and some coffee. It's medium bodied and a little on the modern side. Medium-low acidity and medium tannin. Medium length. Lacks a little in mid-palate but still nice flavors. I used to love Laurel Glen in older vintages (like 94, etc.) because it used to combine Californian fruit with a Bordeaux kind of structure. After I haven't tasted them in a few years this is a slight disappointment. It tastes just like a lot of other Californian Cabs and is pretty mainstream.
Deep purple. Fresh and vibrant. Beautiful! Concentrated Cassis Jam, with hints of Mint, Lavender and Apples. Intense Fruit with Cassis and Blackberries. Traces of Vanilla. Present tannins and oak. Very alive with a long finish! Even though, the wine is very rich, it is smooth and perfectly balanced. Great! See pics and more details in my Blog: cellartv.wordpress.com
