Wednesday, December 31, 2014 - Better than I expected it to be. We opened two bottles, with similar results. Darkly colored, especially for an OR pinot, with only faint bricking at the edges of the glass. Gently herbal nose with some alcoholic heat. Powerful, still tannic, with a stemmy complexity that complements the abundant dark fruit of the warm 2003 vintage. Not my favorite Soter, but this wine hasn't fallen apart, which is a testament to his skill as a winemaker. Well stored bottles still have a few good years left.
