Tuesday, July 19, 2005 - This is at once zingy and refined; strange as it may sound, it tastes to me like a limed Champagne without the bubbles. There's a definite citric breadiness and minerality here. It's medium-bodied -- heavier than the usual Sauvignon Blanc, I think. The finish ain't great, and the wine isn't profound, but it's got some stuffing and represents an excellent change of pace from some of the ho-hum California whites I've had lately. Something interesting to serve the in-laws, maybe.
