Saturday, April 14, 2018 - The full-bodied wine was intense yellow-gold in colour and offered ripe stone fruit, ripe tropical fruit, tangerine, lots of oak, crème brûlée, lots of vanilla, oak spice, macadamia nuts and herbal anise on the nose and palate, with a creamy mouthfeel and very good length. The alcohol (14.5% ABV) was well in check. I liked this 2011 better than the 2009; it was still dominated by ripeness and oak, but seemed less over the top. My parents in law loved it.
