95 Points

Wednesday, December 10, 2014 - I've previously rated this wine a 92, but after tonight, I've increased it by 3 points. Two years ago this wine had an absurd barnyard funk that took some time to blow off, afterwards revealing some subliminal dark fruit flavors, with a touch of licorice and expresso notes, with the same on the palate, and a lingering streaky finish of red fruit & coffee, for about 15 to 20 sec. Tonight this wine turned into a complete Cinderella, with the aromas of dark cherry and raspberry scents, of incredible magnitude, leading the way on the nose, with slight undertones of red licorice & candied spice. The palate unleashed a stupendish array of flavors ranging from Kirsh Liqueur to a volumptuous blackberry creme a la mode, with a harmonious light mocha flavor, along with the acidity to suspend the finish for at least 30sec. +. This wine can improve for another 3 to 5 years, based on the fruit, tannins, acidity, & alchol, if stored correctly. Clearly a 20 year wine. 95+ By the way, it was a tie, if not one notch above the 2010 Laird Estate Cabernet Sauvignon
