2010 Passopisciaro Passopisciaro

Community Tasting Note

Likes this wine:

Monday, April 28, 2014 - Some wines are great for a causal glass on the couch; some are nice with dinner, and some demand food. This is one of the latter - alone, it's a high-acid tannin wall that seems dumb on the palate and uninteresting. With dinner (rack of lamb over spring pea risotto with roasted carrots and onions) this wine sings with a full throat. It opens up to reveal layers and layers of restrained red fruit, citrus, rocks, earth and mushroom while retaining the palate refreshing acidity. You wouldn't believe it was the same wine. I don't know that I've ever had a wine that changed as much with food - and boy is it worth it. Perfect with the meal.
