Friday, March 14, 2014 - Herbs and mineral are on the fore tonight - sagebrush and black tea, soil and tobacco. Faint acetic volatility and big botti. Sour cherries, with a hint of strawberries. Very sangiovese, and quite stern. It's the palate that really captures us this time. So grippy! Slender body and bright acidity, densely knit tannins, athletic sinewy build, vigour and sustain. No make-up, only elegance. We'll have to wait a long time for development in this vintage. (92-93)
