Friday, September 29, 2006 - Really fantastic wine. I'd tasted this first with the winemakers on release, loved it then and bought a case to lay down. This was the first bottle opened since then and it lived up to my expectations. Full bodied, deep dark pure color, and absolutely integrated, balanced and refined. Dominant fruit flavors were blackberries and plums with amazing overtones of vanilla, light oak, lavender and just a hint of smokiness. Very sophisticated and complex without being at all intimidating. Served this bottle with other wines at a dinner party and it was far-and-away everyone's favorite of the night.
