Monday, May 26, 2014 - Weekly tasting group #119; A mixed set of red wines (@ BS): Extremely youthful bouquet with cherry yoghurt and blackberries. Same on the palate. Ripe red berry fruits as well, a firm amount of acidity and alcohol, mild tannin. I really would like to taste this wine around 2017 again. Possibly it is even more beautiful. 89+

Was at El Sequé exactly a year ago and if I remember well, Carlos was extremely happy about his 2010. Haven’t been to Spain this year yet, but will be in Barcelona for work the first week of November.

Really? Eight years for a Seque like this? Alright gonna give a chance to this as I am doing with a 2006 Clio. Usually Monastrell is for early years, in my modest opinion :-)
Barcelona? Take a get-away Madrid man..let's share a funny wine time.
Cheers,

The 2001 I tasted at the domain last year was too old. But I will change this TN a bit, so it sounds a little less optimistic concerning the ageing potential.
It would be nice to share a few wines, but I’m afraid I have a full program that week in Barcelona, probably even including the evenings. Cheers Z. P.S. Clio is nice as well :-)

Nice to know you'll be busy in Barcelona. Have nice days over there.
I also tasted 2004 Seque, in 2009, and it was good but nothing spectacular. More 'honest' than an opulent 2004 Clio I have to say.
I've been in punish many te having an excellent 'arroz caldoso' but never visiting this winery. According with your words it seems I am loosing something good. My fault.
Btw I saw your lovely TN changing :-)
Cheers!

Cheers!

9/18/2014 11:45:00 AM - Hi Harley, well in fact I might even have eten arroz caldoso. Carlos (The sun of Artadi who runs El Sequé) took us to a restaurant down the road and also called El Sequé. We got a dish there that looked like paella and had snails in it as well. Could that have been arroz caldoso? Anyway; it was delicious.

Cheers!

11/4/2014 10:13:00 AM - Hi Harley, Programme is quite busy. From 08.00 - 19.00 without a proper break. Some tapas close by the hotel in the evening. But I found a few fairly nice wines in a supermarket close by, to drink while I update some of my older tasting notes in CT ;-).
