Sunday, January 16, 2022 - I'm surprised at the youthful light yellow colour. From a cold cellar temperature, it takes some time to reveal its ripe, though not crisp, apple nose, with grilled cashew nuts following - which in turn morphs into something close to peanut and lemon pith. At three hours, what seems to be some very subtle oak shows up, though there is no mention of any ageing in oak. Very good concentration of ripe, pungent lemon and apple flavours have a bit of grip mid-palate. Fullish bodied. Though I can't taste barrique, the wine is round enough for me to think there has been some exposure to oak. A little rasp-like at the tail, which is what takes it down a half notch to very good plus. There should be another five years in this.
