Friday, February 6, 2015 - Tasting in Châteauneuf-du-Pape; 2/5/2015-2/7/2015 (Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Southern Rhône, France): Smoky and meaty, the nose is very dark and brooding. A bit more fruit forward on the body, with black raspberries and spice, leading into a finish of fine tannin and balanced acidity. This has a nice freshness and is very approachable now.
