Saturday, February 2, 2019 - Pop and pour. Less flamboyant aromatics than I usually find with this wine, buy there is still a core of black raspberry liqueur and incense, with the des Tours signature a little softer than usual; brown sugar and earth toned down a bit. On the palate, good acidity, and red currant with cherry pit, loads of spiced brown sugar, and minty herbs. Excellent, and no hurry whatsoever to drink.
Day 2: open, unrefrigerated on the counter overnight. Slightly more cherry pit bitterness and the tannin shows a bit more, but otherwise essentially unchanged from last night. If this btl is representative, then there is no hurry to drink.
