The colour is almost opaque, the nose at first almost reluctantly hesitating behind a veil of sour cherries, red currants and a subtle grassy tone. The acidity is very appealing, and in combination with the massive tannins the wine turns into a superb effort. However very young and still a bit disintegrated, I suggest a few more years in the cellar will make the 2007 La Consulta a true beauty.
