Wednesday, May 11, 2022 - 1st of 12, opened an hour, perfect cork and level - dark, dense glossy ruby, surprisingly youthful robe, leggy; sweaty saddle, plum, earth, garrigue, herby rather than spicey at this stage, complexity yet to develop; full, decent length and persistence, a concentrated wine with a sweetish core, not quite come together and lacking acidic lift, clear upside 10 years. At least F (17.5).......it'll be interesting to see whether grenache flavours start to emerge as they would help bring balance to this overwhelmingly and aggressive mourvedre profile, and not quite up to Mordoree's usual very high standard at this stage, eg 01 and 03!
