Saturday, February 28, 2015 - Multiple hour Decant, wish I had given it even more air than this.The nose consists of raisins, almonds, cherries and bacon fat.The alcohol is obvious, this one is hot. This is a big wine on the palate,with the raisins almonds and cherries clearly stated here as well. Plenty of tannins are evident and the mouthfeel is lush with a fairly long finish. A classic amarone in all respects, a few more years of cellar time will not hurt this at all.
2nd day the heat diminished and the tannins mellowed allowing this to open more fully and added two points to the score for me, I can't state enough to give this plenty of air before drinking it.
