Thursday, July 1, 2021 - The reviewers giving this a lower score (relatively) are because this Aubert CIX is less opulent, less explosive, less rich compared to other expressions of Aubert chardonnays. The reviewers giving this a higher score are because this is a beautiful chardonnay. Clean, fresh, hints of oak, citrus, crisp minerality, lemon cream, and with just the right amount of acid. No one component overwhelming the balance of this wine. It's not going to blow anyone away, but everyone will certainly enjoy this one. One bit of advice though - I thought it tasted best when it was ice cold, rather than at cellar temp.
