Tuesday, May 10, 2016 - Tight and monolithic upon opening from cellar temp, so don’t even think about PnP’ing this. BIG juicy brambly fruit, still high acidity, pepper on the nose (but little on the palate), big spice, dried herbs, espresso with an orange twist. Still hiding it’s 16.2abv very well. I loved this upon release and found it much more interesting two+ years ago (94pts-unposted; 6 bottles consumed then). It’s youthful energy is toning down slightly and it's a pleasure to drink, but I can’t say that it’s improving. Either hurry and drink yesterday or wait 2+ years and see if it settles into something deeper.
