Saturday, November 29, 2014 - Decanted for 1 hr. Color is deep red. Nose is earthy, spices, somewhat musty, cassis—typical of the region. Mouthfeel: medium body. Medium-high acidity, somewhat bright tannis, peppery taste and bite, dark fruit. A nice medium-length finish, where you get a lot of spices, a peppery note, and again the dark fruit (cassis). This is a decent wine, but for $30 I am slightly disappointed--maybe we were expecting too much--I wanted a bit more complexity and depth. Didn't feel this wine would grow with age either.
The wine looks ruby colored. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle.
