Friday, March 12, 2010 - Decanted for 1.5 hours (it needed more). Inky, black / purple color - does not show any signs of age. Oak (not overbearing), blackberry, currants & cigar box on the nose (quite aromatic). On the palate, a very full bodied mouthfeel with layers of blackberry, plum & tar that is balanced by rich acidity (this wine is excellent with steak) & mouth drying tannins. Much better with air. For $40.00 or under, very nice QPR. Should warrant a higher rating with bottle age.
