Sunday, January 26, 2014 - Honestly, I wasn't very impressed by this. This wine has a dark color, and a very assertive Merlot nose. On the palate it is confusing: oak, fruit, soft tannins, bitter undertaste combined with a hint of sweetness. The parts just don't seem to gel. It's not one particular thing that stands out, just how the various parts come together. There's even a suggestion of heat on the finish, which is surprising, considering the fairly modest 13.4% ABV. At around $17 a pop, there are many, many better options. I'd pass on this one.
