Thursday, June 20, 2013 - Drank at offline then again at The Wine Closet over past week. This wine is ready to go, imo. I love the big briny, bacony, earthy character. Black olives, salt, black pepper, blood, iron, pickled meats. There is plenty of fruit there in the background as Susan says, but to my palate the balance of bacon vs. fruit is in a really good spot. Reminds me of Cayuse, just not as funky. By far the best CA Syrah I have ever drank.

Revisited bottle on Day 2. Blackberry compote fruit much more prominent, and the more interesting (to me) briny components have subdued. I wonder if those would come back later on, but for me this wine is an early drinker.
