Thursday, December 8, 2016 - Not exactly a screamer, just decent, although way over the top price-wise. Nicolas Potel's 'own' vines (marketed under the label 'Roche de Bellene') are better value, eg. the Nuits St Georges VV 2009'. Somewhat 'tired' looking robe, subtle bouquet, mostly pepper and some forest scent. Long finish immediately after opening, fading fast after 30min of breathing. Acidity level is ok - what annoys me most is a general lack of 'backbone', nothing really in terms of memorable impression. Not unpleasant, but quickly forgotten (the moment it passes your palate). There is no indication whatsoever that this will age gracefully - I'd drink up fast.
