Excellent QPR - this is a promising Barbaresco, just too young at this stage, Carries some baby fat, unresolved tannins, and prominent alcohol, as you may expect from a 6 year old reserve. Yet there is also a surprising sweetness and mellowness, dark cherry, liquorice–which is already quite inviting. This will be an educated crowd-pleaser in 2 years - unrivalled at less than $25.

I agree with most of what has been said already. This is a great St Estephe–in the making. For me, there are still about 3-4 years left to reach its peak, judging by the level of acidity and heat. Not that it isn't enjoyable right now–it is actually very good. Of course, after 14 years in barrel and bottle, it may sound a bit strange to call a wine still 'young'. But this is a St Estephe and it is still young... It may just be one of those wines that truly deserve some more cellaring to bing out the very best, because judging at what is there already, the very best could be truly outstanding. Drink 2026-2029.

Fine, textbook Brunello - approaching peak. Showed well at PnP. Moderate acidity which helped to deal with the Christmas turkey, leaving a clean, fresh aftertaste. Very enjoyable and excellent value for money. Drink from now to 2028.
