flawed

Sunday, February 22, 2015 - After allowed to air out in the decanter for 3+ hours. Most likely suffering from cork taint. I will still try and analyze but reserve any scoring.

Aromas of medium/medium+ intensity carry bold red fruit that are slightly on the jammy/syrupy side. Sweet red cherry, Strawberry jam/syrup, cassis, raspberry with baking spice, tobacco, earth and shisha smoke.
On the palate medium body with good weight and texture. The tannins are moderate and the acidity is medium/medium+ keeping this wine from being fat and flabby. Flavors of cherry shisha smoke, strawberry, tobacco and earth but the flaw is clearly evident and mutes the flavors and aromas that all come through as secondary to the flaw. Such a shame, luckily I have another bottle.
