Saturday, May 9, 2015 - Really powerful nose of licorice and ripe black cherry with notes of bitter chocolate and coffee. Very rip fruit flavors of black cherry and blackberry with lots of acidity and a robust texture. There is a fine density to the wine and the finish is quite tannic with notes of bitter chocolate and Indian spices. I prefer the '10 vintage as this may have been left hanging on the vine for a touch too long for my palate.
