Wednesday, June 17, 2015 - Now this has some age on it. Nice to drink wines like this for a change, as I am accustomed to drinking much newer stuff, for sure. This got better with air, as it was not decanted or opened prior to the meal so the oxidation did seem to help the wine fill out. Good amount of black cherry fruit, and then with air, it seemed to come more alive and yet paradoxically tighten up, with evident tannin and cedar. I was spitting most of the night and we drank only a handful of wines so I thought my palate was pretty fresh for tasting this wine.
