Wednesday, January 25, 2023 - Overall: well integrated, high quality Bordeaux that is right in the drinking window but may have a few years left. MUST be decanted 2-3 hours to really develop - the nose right out of the bottle was closed and rather unpleasant.

Color: deep, dark garnet, but not entirely opaque; definitely showing signs of age with earth tones toward the rim.

Nose: baking spices, blackberry, black cherry, cigar box (Spanish cedar)

Palate: medium tannins, medium acid, medium-full body; ripe, dark red or black cherries and sweet cranberry; this isn’t a sweet wine but the cranberry flavor is more like the thanksgiving dish than the tart, raw cranberry you might find in some Tuscan wines. Everything is underpinned by darker flavors that are hard to isolate - maybe some leather, blackberry, cinnamon/nutmeg/clove. This is really well integrated and specific notes are challenging to identify.

Finish: long, mouthwatering, somewhat fruity finish. It’s lovely.
