90 Points

Sunday, June 6, 2010 - Mix of earth and tart cherries. It was almost perfumed and ever so slightly minty. Depth emerged over time; the nose completely changed into an almost syrupy blend of molasses, coffee and root vegetables. Interesting. At times, a pronounced smokiness dominated, but it was transient enough to allowed other nuances to share the stage. The attack was tart, and the mid palate was earthy. Perhaps this could use more fruit, but I really wouldn't need the fruit if the slight bitterness on mid palate and the finish would disappear. This wine is worth a taste.
