Friday, June 12, 2015 - We decanted this bottle for two hours. This was less enjoyable than I had been expecting.

The nose was nice, with a combination of dark fruit, lead, and light earth. The palate was not consistent with the nose. Even several hours in, the wine was dominated by spices, pepper, and some degree of green vegetables. The finish is long and the tannins are behaving well for a 12 year old wine. I was hoping for either more fruit on the palate, or more refined and elegant taste as it evolved in the glass.

We have a few bottles left, so perhaps the next one will be better.
