Saturday, December 1, 2018 - I found this bottle in my cellar and figured I might as well give it a try. Was really surprised at how well made this wine is. Brought it to a BYOB restaurant in central Massachusetts and drank over 1 hour.

Initially on the nose it has lots of dark fruits, seductive leather, and dried figs. The palate is medium bodied, rich, velvety, and tannins have very nicely integrated. Almost no heat on the nose and minimal on the palate. Still fruit forward for an 8 year old wine. As we drank it over the course of the night it continued to evolve and show its age - more forest floor, dark volcanic soil, and part of my wants to say this has characteristics of Rutherford dust.

Great example of a reasonably priced, very well made wine that is easy drinking, works great with food, isn't stuffy and not pretending to be something else. Great QPR, great wine! Give it 45 minutes in the decant and it will reward you.
