Thursday, March 19, 2020 - Absolutely decant this bottle. I have enjoyed many vintages of Còlpetrone Sagrantino di Montefalco and learned by making the mistake of not decanting. The 2008 vintage is drinking very well in 2020 but might have peaked last year. This bottle absolutely explodes in body and character after decanting. Overall this is medium-full bodied wine that due to its spice, dark fruit, burnt minerality, and long finish pairs very well with big meals, flavorful sauces, and meats.
