Sunday, June 7, 2015 - Coravin'd a few glasses; Jeff Gargiulo was the last winemaker we spoke with after leaving the Napa Auction farewell brunch today at the home of Quintessa's owners. Solid wine with minimal air; Sweet tannic nose, very smooth mouthfeel, punctuated by black cherry, blueberry, faint saddle leather. I'd guess this is approaching its peak, and concur with the "drink by '17" comment, though its great today.
