2012 Stags' Leap Winery Viognier

Community Tasting Note

Wednesday, March 21, 2018 - So, we've had this bottle for quite awhile, and it is slightly past the community drinking window. That said, this viognier was still very decent, and I'd give it possibly another year or two beyond now (and submitted a 2020 end date). It was moderately dry, but as it warmed up, a touch of sweetness came through. At the end of the day, this was still quite a nice bottle - just don't drink it super-chilled.

Old world Viognier , Condrieu , due to different soils in France ...do have lower alcohol , higher acidity and the ability to age :a 1995 Guigal Condrieu , drunk in 2010 was fresh rich and focused .....cheers, PONTIFAX.
