Saturday, August 8, 2015 - Tasted blind. Clear, pale yellow, day bright with silver and green hues. The viscosity is medium (+) to high. The nose is clean, youthful, medium (+) to high in intensity. Complex aromas of candied lemon, canned peaches, pineapple, gardenia, baby powder and baking spices. The palate is dry, but with some residual sugar. The acidity is low to medium (-). The alcohol is high (14.5%). The palate is generally consistent with the nose, with apple, tropical fruit, white pepper and baking spices. There's a pleasant hint of bitterness on the medium long finish. This is fairly classic New World Viognier, opulent without being over-the-top. Drinking well now, but does not appear to warrant long-term aging.
