Monday, November 2, 2015 - Tasting at Marchesi di Gresy (Barbaresco): Pale ruby, tawny edge. Pine resin aromatics and not as floral as the '11 Martinenga. Bigger and rounder than that wine. Ripe cherry, chocolate, and saddle leather. Nice sweetness of fruit. Accessible but good acidity, moderate tannins. Substantially resolved at this point, so while still vigorous, it can be drunk with pleasure. Not as woody as nose suggests, but definitely modern. Lovely aftertaste. I liked this quite a bit despite it being the oakiest wine we tasted.
